What to Do Labor Day Weekend
Solvang
Labor Day weekend is one of the busiest weekends in Solvang — arrive early to beat the bakery lines and snag easy parking. The windmill photo spots, Hans Christian Andersen Museum, and Copenhagen Drive tasting rooms are all in peak summer form. The Solvang Festival Theater may have performances Saturday and/or Sunday evening — check their schedule.
Los Olivos Wine Walk
Los Olivos's Grand Avenue tasting room scene is at its summer best over Labor Day. More than 20 rooms within walking distance, most walk-in friendly. The Inn at Mattei's Tavern patio is a particularly good spot for an afternoon glass. R-Country Market may have weekend tri-tip — arrive early.
Buellton Craft Beer
Firestone Walker Barrelworks (620 McMurray Rd) and Figueroa Mountain Brewing (45 Industrial Way) both have taprooms open Labor Day weekend. Hitching Post II is the best dinner option in Buellton — call ahead, it books up on holiday weekends.
