The Drive: LA to Solvang
Standard Route — US-101 North (140 miles, ~2.5 hrs)
Take US-101 North from downtown Los Angeles or the Valley. Old Mission Santa Inés (optional but worth it)
Founded in 1804, Old Mission Santa Inés (1760 Mission Dr) is 10 minutes on foot. The rose garden is peaceful, the museum has Chumash artifacts and centuries-old vestments, and the colonial cemetery is unlike anything in LA. $7 admission. Open 9 AM–4:30 PM. Takes 45 minutes. Skip it if you're short on time.
Lunch

Wine tasting on Copenhagen Drive
